Let me start by saying that while some women may face challenges in engaging with spiritual practices, others find them to be a source of comfort, guidance, and strength. Now, it can be challenging even in my life, primarily for reasons I will list below.
Like any habit, this is a habit we need to build over time to become second nature. It is a muscle we need to develop. Although there are many reasons why it is difficult for us as individuals, this is one that we as Christian women should put in our day and make this part of our routine so it does become more accessible and more joyful.
But let's get back to basics here. We are called to have a growing relationship with our heavenly father. Just like any relationship, it takes time, but what we can do is start by picking up the Bible and reading; even if you may feel lost in it, do it, trust me it is a living word that each time you read it and the more you do you will learn and you will understand. Secondly, pray out loud by yourself or quietly in your head; it can be anywhere or however long.
Giving thanks to start with, and if that is all you can do, then wonderful. Keep doing it each morning, morning and night, and throughout the day. We, as believers, should be coming to the Lord for everything and always seeking him first. As straightforward and pleasing as that sounds, I know it is only sometimes the case.

In many cultures and societies, many past but some present, women have traditionally been held back from formal religious education, and that has caused some to be uncomfortable and step out from what they have known. For example, some women may feel that they are not "good enough" or "holy enough" to pray or study the Bible or that their concerns and experiences as women are not adequately represented in religious teachings
Wherever you land in the spectrum, and it is broad, know and understand that you are not alone and that it is something that we need to incorporate in our daily lives to grow our faith and understanding but also to want to be closer to our father who created us and made us in his image. How great is it that we can do this and have access to Him directly?! It is a blessing, and if we shift our thinking to "I get to," we will know that it all matters, no matter how small or big.
So, If you are a Christian woman who struggles with prayer or Bible reading, you are not alone. Many women face challenges when it comes to engaging with these practices. Here's some things to keep in mind that may be helpful:
Start small: If you're feeling overwhelmed, it's okay to start small. You don't have to commit to hours of prayer or reading the Bible in one sitting. Even a few minutes of prayer or reading can be meaningful.
Find a community: It can be helpful to connect with other Christian women who seek to deepen their faith. Look for local or online communities that share your beliefs and values. I am involved in a beautiful Christian women's society that is supportive and encouraging. If you want to join, it is free, please reach out, and I will send you the link.
Seek guidance: If you're struggling to understand or connect with specific passages of the Bible, don't be afraid to seek advice from a pastor or other brethren. They can provide insights and interpretations that help you better understand the text.
Recognize your worth: Remember that God values and loves you, regardless of your perceived holiness or knowledge of religious texts. Don't let feelings of inadequacy or comparison hold you back from seeking a deeper connection with your faith.
Be patient and persistent: Building a solid spiritual practice takes time and effort. Keep showing up and putting in the work, and trust that your efforts will bear fruit in the long run. Don't be discouraged if you don't see immediate results.
The most important thing is approaching prayer and Bible reading with an open and humble heart. Trust that God is with you every step of the way and that your efforts to deepen your faith are pleasing to Him.
